The Apartment, Cambridge MA- Saturday afternoon

Aeryn generally had one day off a week, and she was especially glad for it today. Talyn had been up most of the night seemingly for no reason and going in to work today would have been Interesting. Of course it meant he was tired now, and was sleeping comfortably which Aeryn knew because she was still getting up from the living room often to check on him.

Someone should probably stop her before she wears tracks in the carpeting.


[Open for calls, E-mails, whatever look I don't care, I just know I'm probably gonna be here in bed all today and demand entertainment.]

She frowned, but said gently, "You can plan all you want, but things tend to go very differently. And not necessarily in a bad way."

There was a small silence, then an awkward laugh. "We like to plan everything out," he said. "Sometimes it works better than others."

"I'll let you have your dream for now," she said dryly. "How is everything over there?"

"It's Fandom," Anakin said. "I have another grandson here now, my granddaughter is having the worst three months in history, and I had to fight Darth Vader in lightsaber combat so he wouldn't take over the island a few weeks back. Same as usual?"

"That... sounds a bit more complicated than usual," Aeryn said. "I thought I would just hear about more dinosaurs."

"Luke's son is here. Not the one that's a baby," Anakin said, "um, obviously. And both of Jaina's brothers died in combat back in August. She says she's fine and I really want to believe her...but it's both of her brothers."

"I can see where that would be hard," said Aeryn, and though she couldn't relate exactly she had enough family issues to want to gloss over that. "Since when does Luke have a son?"

"Different Luke," Anakin said, sounding a little disturbed. "This one is in his sixties. Doesn't seem right."

There was a long pause as Aeryn tried to picture that. "My head," she said finally, frowning.

"He's older than I am! It's wrong!"

[can_be_more]

"I'm not disagreeing! I can't even picture him that age." Granted, Aeryn didn't know a lot of people that made it to that age. Still.

"Me either," Anakin said. "Wonder if I could still beat him in lightsaber combat..."

Good to have priorities, Anakin.

"Well, he is in his sixties. I'm sure that gives you the advantage." Don't encourage him, Aeryn.

"He's Jolee's age, and I know I can take him," Anakin mused.

Bad, Anakin. Bad.

"Who?"

Jolee and Aeryn would either really get along, or really not.

"Cranky old Jedi who runs the bar now. I don't like him."

That was hugely shocking. Really.

"Oh right." She had no idea if she knew of him or not, really. "Does that mean you can't throw drinks on him on bad days?"

"Not and have them land," Anakin said sulkily. "I think Tino'd get tired of being wet."

"Tino might be used to it," she considered.

[sith_happened]

"Tino might start spitting in the drinks," Anakin replied.

"Which is stupid of him, if they're just going to be thrown at him."

[sith_happened]

"I'll have to point that out," Anakin said. "How's life in Massachusetts?"

"There's not much to it besides work and Talyn," Aeryn said. "I'm working six days a week now, and trying to manage it when John's home so we don't need a babysitter. It's been... difficult."

Anakin nodded, then realized that wasn't helpful on the phone. "I'm only at the school a couple times a week," he offered, "and I could use the practice."

"Are you actually offering to babysit?" She didn't know why she was surprised except that it was another one of those things she couldn't picture.
