OOC: On dealing with Aeryn

Typing this up mostly for newbies or people who aren't too scared to deal with my girl anymore. Just some general info, should you want to interact with Aeryn or should she try to talk you up.
So I run into a problem in that Aeryn is hard to socialize. I won't beg anyone for interaction or anything, but she gets difficult. She doesn't really talk to people she doesn't know if she doesn't have a reason. She is trying, though. It's just that not a lot of people know the fandom and so they don't know her, and she can be intimidating/scary whether you know her or not. She's in the gym or on the second floor most often, and I'm sticking her in public more often lately, so she's around. If she doesn't strike up a conversation, it's not so much that she wouldn't want to, it's just that she doesn't really know how.
There's more detailed information in the user info, but essentially, Aeryn is an alien, from someplace very not here, and military (which can be code for "likes her weapons" and "could probably kick your ass"). She has absolutely no problems with anyone knowing this, and if you want your character to have that info, go ahead and ask and she'll tell you. Depending on her mood, you might get an interesting/fun reaction from her if you assume out loud that she's human.
Also, I have no problem embarrassing the poor thing. *pats her* Aeryn, however, does have a problem with it. I love putting her in uncomfortable situations (which is why half the dorms should have gotten a few TMI moments thanks to the phone thing), but she does have a limit. If you manage to piss her off that way, it doesn't even automatically mean you'll be on her bad side once she calms down. She'll just never ever bring it up again. *g*
By the way, if you got a phone message from her and she didn't say who it was, she does have an accent. (The actress that plays her has kind of an Australian/British thing going on, if you need an idea.) You have free reign to say you recognized her voice.
One final point that will confuse people: there are two identical couples at FH. There's John/Aeryn and Cam/Vala, who are both played on different TV shows by Ben Browder and Claudia Black. In the last week that became a sort of sensitive subject for the very first time. If you're new, she should forgive any mixup. If you've been going to school with her from the beginning and have been in the position to hear the radio, or hear how much the guys talk about their respective girlfriends, she's going to verbally thwap you. Fair warning.
Also, I have to say that I love each and every one of the newbies and all my characters and I have had a blast with you guys so far. =)
