Room 209, Sunday morning
Apr. 23rd, 2006 10:13 amAeryn wakes up late for her, and only debates getting up. Prom hadn't actually been horrible. John picked her up and there was dinner, complete with almost-shoe-throwing and declarations of "awesome". It was eduational, too. Now she knows that there's a kind of dancing she can handle and a kind she can't. Wearing white is okay, but pink will never happen again. Also, someone's going to have to die when Aeryn finds out who that was. It's just the way things have to be.
And all right, fine, prom princess. She's had enough reasons to think lately to be too upset about it. She's also realized it wasn't done mockingly, because no one here is that stupid. People will still take her seriously. Maybe she just fits in better than she thinks she does. The basic fact of the matter is that this is what her life is now. It may not be what she thought it would be- because really, a crown?- and it may not even be the life she chose for herself, exactly, but she's kind of okay with that.
She turns onto her side and slides an arm around John and tries to go back to sleep.
