The "Homecoming" part of it is ridiculous, since it's meant to be a dance that's aimed at getting alumni to attend and donate money.
We don't have alumni.
We also don't have any sports teams (yet), which is supposed to be the other half; a celebration of the last game of a season.
That said... *rolling eyes* It
can
be fun. If you don't take it too seriously. Since you've got John, that's one ridiculous hurdle already crossed.
The leather should be fine. Just tell them you're going as Madonna. Or one of Prince's dates. Get a matching bustier and no one will question it.
