Meerkat cabin, Aeryn's alcove, Thursday night

The weather on this planet can't seem to make up its mind, and it's starting to get annoying. She did consider making the trek over to the gym, but the simple fact is she doesn't feel like it. Instead, she finds herself going into the bag she brought with her, taking out the album full of pictures of John as an animal, wondering whether Rita Skeeter had been on drugs, and whether she's gotten some sort of help since then.

Nope.

Jamie isn't in the meerkat cabin peering into Aeryn's alcove because he has some schoolboy crush on her.

Not at all.

And that's not a gnome trying to pull the hair off of Jamie's head.

Aeryn looks up, trying not to laugh at the gnome. "Who's your friend?" she asks.

"I'm calling him Pedro," Jamie said with a wince as the Gnome yanked hard on his hair. "He showed up this morning and won't go away."

"Have you told him to stop?" she wonders.

"Gee. Wish I thought of that," Jamie said with a little eyeroll and then turning to look at the gnome on his shoulder.

"Hey. Pedro. Stop with the hair pulling."

The gnome giggles and smacks Jamie in the face.

"See? Works like a charm."

Aeryn looks at the gnome and says, "Stop or I get my weapon."

The gnome giggles and continues to slap Jamie in the head.

Jamie looks grateful. "Really? You'd do that for me?"

"Well, I don't have a weapon here," she admits. "Though I could find something to club it with."

The gnome has now climbed onto Jamie's face and is grabbing his bottom lip.

"Thab woulb beeb appesiateb."

Aeryn has no idea what he just said, but gets up from her sitting position to pick up a large book complete of all of Dr. Seuss' stories, and walks up to Jamie with it. "I'll try to avoid your head," she says. "But I make no promises."

Nope. That's not a glazed over expression Jamie has on his face.

"Dab's okay"

She steps back, and swings the book at the... Pedro.

Pedro? Quick little bugger. He's on top of Jamie's head before the book smacks Jamie right on the face and sending him falling to the floor.

Creating another Jamie of course.

Jamie looks up at Aeryn looking a little woozy. "Did you get him?"

She frowns, looking between the Jamies, not sure which one she should be talking to. "Um. Not exactly."

"He's still on your head," the second Jamie said helping him up.

"Thanks," Jamie said as he shook his head, which made the gnome squee with glee.

Jamie sighed as he absorbed his duplicate. "Thanks for trying."

Aeryn tilts her head a little. "That's supposed to happen?" she asks.

Jamie shook his head illiciting more squees from Pedro.

"I duplicate on impact. I'm a mutant." he said cheerfully.

"Oh," she says, and this is really no different from Jake or Molly, except for the second Jamie bit. "Your gnome is starting to make some disturbing sounds."

"I think it likes it when I move my head around," Jamie said looking a little awkward suddenly.

"So... um... Bitterwoman. Never did get around to that did we?"

"No, we didn't," she says. "I think we're back to the dorms soon, though."

Jamie appears to be nervously looking around the room as the gnome is busily trying to burrow down his shirt.

"Um. You want to try it again in the common room on Tuesday?" Jamie asks with a little catch in his voice.

Aeryn's watching the gnome. "Sure," she says. "I don't have anything that day."

"Great!" Jamie says looking suddenly very bouncy. "I'll meet you there in the afternoon?"

"All right," she says. "You might want to leave the gnome."

"Not a problem!" Jamie said almost but not quite skipping out of the meerkat cabin. "Bye!"

Aeryn shrugs a little, putting the book back where it came from.
