Room 238, Monday early afternoon

Aeryn is still not freaking out. In fact, she's sitting on the bed, papers in front of her, looking over them. Again.

Maybe later she'll panic that she is so okay with this, but for now, that's not happening.

John's coming out of the shower and smiles immediately when he notices what Aeryn's doing.

"Look good?"

"It does," she admits, smiling up at him. "There's just one thing."

Uh oh.

"Oh? What?"

"Where's the furniture?"

You know, she really has been pretty sheltered about some things.

"Oooooh." He laughs. "We'll have to get some. I'm sure I could take some old furniture from my parents and the rest can be bought. Really, all we need is a bed, couch, coffee table, tv stand, tv and a dresser."

"It doesn't come with the apartment?" she asks. This is completely a first for her.

"Nah," he says and dries his hair off. "Some apartments have furnished but this one isn't. No biggie, Aeryn. We'll get furniture. If not, we'll live on love."

Yes, he's aware of how cheesy that sounds.

Aeryn is. "Did you really just say that?" she asks, amused.

"Uh huh." And he's just too damn happy to do anything but grin.

"That was bad, even for you," she laughs, and waves him over.

He laughs and shrugs, coming over to flop down beside her.

She lays down beside him, still holding the papers up so she can see them. "So this place is called... Cambridge?" she says, having to sound it out as she reads it.

"Cambridge, yep," he confirms. "It's a nice area."

"So now when people ask where I'm going after graduation, I can actually tell them." She may be a little too pleased by this.

"Uh huh," he says and rolls over so he can kiss her, entirely too pleased that she's thinking like that himself. "You can."

She runs her thumb over his cheekbone, and admits, "I can't believe we're actually doing this."

He grins under her thumb. "Start believing it."

"I have a year to adjust. It may take me that long."

"True," he says and nods. "But it's gonna happen."

"Have you always been this sure?" she wonders. Thinking back to comments made as early as New Year's, she has to wonder.

"Since after you came back and we worked things out," he admits. "I just kept it to myself. Mostly."

"Mostly?"

"Well, I've been letting things slip since then."

Ah. Just to me?"

"Yes," he says. "It's between us until we're ready to tell people. And I didn't want you to hear plans for our future from someone who is not me."
