Room 238, Thursday morning

The summer's almost over and Aeryn still hasn't learned about that thing called 'laziness'. It's not too early, but Aeryn's up already and just laying there isn't doing anything for her. Not wanting to wake John, she sits up and starts to get out of bed.

"I'm still hard to impress no matter what time of day it is," she reminds him. "And it's not that early."

"Hmph." He takes another bite before cuddling closer and sighing.

Okay, now she just feels like poking at him, verbally. "Wake up."

"No," he mutters and doesn't move.

"Yes," she says, and does poke him in the shoulder this time.

He scrunches his face up and clings to her legs. "Noooo."

Aeryn doesn't think she's ever heard that said by him that way before. She pokes him again, kind of out of curiosity.

"Stoppit," he complains. "I'm sleeping."

"Not if I can help it." Poke.

"Ouch! That one hurt." He doesn't get up though.

"It wasn't supposed to," she says, and this time just prods him really lightly against his side, which turns more into rubbing the area. Just in case it's another weird thing where poking is harmful to humans. She really wouldn't put it past this species.

"Why're you trying to keep me awake?"

"I have no idea," Aeryn admits. "I just like when you're awake."

"I'll be awake soon," he says drowsily.

Aeryn gives up, uses her hands to hold up his head so it doesn't smack into the mattress right away, and lays in the space she's got.

"What're you doing?" John asks, sleepy again.

"I can irritate you better from here," she says, but she's just folded her arms and is staring up at the ceiling.

"Are you mad at me cuz I won't wake up all the way?" He's still tired, he can't help it.

"I don't think I've been mad since Dr. Cox's class," says Aeryn, and that's not even really mad.

"That's good," he says and kisses her shoulder.

"Stop being cute," she says. Because if she says the word, maybe he'll call her on it and then she can be annoyed.

"No," he says and snuggles her shoulder.

"Stop it," she says.

"Fine," he says and turns over and pouts.

"Oh, don't do that," Aeryn says. "You've been trying to sleep all morning when I wanted to actually talk with you or something."
