The flipside of getting a chance to go out and help save a friend and hurt some things in the process was that afterwards, it was back to normal things, like filling out job applications in front of the TV and feeling uncomfortable in the current style of clothes. There might have been a little part of her that wondered if it would be wrong to wear a pulse pistol around the apartment, just for the night.

"I have other good qualities beside just kissing," he said and slid his mouth along her jaw before kissing her ear.

Yeah, she knew that much. She played along anyway, tilting her head to give him room and asking, "Such as?"

"Opposable thumbs so I can do this," he said and started tugging up her shirt.

Keeping an eye on the door, just in case, she smiled and moved her hands up to his shoulders to give him room to work.

John slipped her shirt off and tossed it aside, leaning in to suck and lick at her neck and shoulder.

She tilted her head back more, hands back at the hem of his shirt to start working it up.

John decided to be helpful and started wriggling out of his shirt, very thankful that the apartment was heated and that her hands were warm.

She gave any needed assistance as long as it got him shirtless and back to kissing, then immediately got to work on undoing his pants.

"Eager," he said, smiling at her. "You'll have to keep me warm."

"I think I can manage that," she grinned, and noticed a problem in getting his pants off in this position.

"Need me to move?" John asked, looking down at her hands.

"Mm hm," she said, moving one hand to lightly push at his chest, as if that wasn't a hint.

"Want me to lay down?" John asked, resisting just slightly.

"Yes," she said, pushing harder this time.

And that was enough to topple him backwards, laughing. He tucked an arm behind his head and said, "You got your wish."

"Not all of it." And that would be her tugging his pants down.

"Well, you're almost there," he said and lifted his hips to help her out.

She managed to get them off, pulling underwear along with them, deciding that solved that problem. She settled over him a bit, kissing along his collarbone.

"What about you?" John asked, frowning. "This is better if it's both of us naked."

"Then work on that," she said, lightly nipping at his throat.

"I thought you were in control," he explained, hands wandering down to her pants and tugging hard. Forget suave and slick. He just wanted those damn pants off.

"You're doing it, aren't you?" she said, smiling against his neck and biting lightly.

"Good point," he said and got them unbuttoned to the point where she could push them down her hips about halfway. "You have to do the rest."

"Oh, that was barely work," she sighed, and sat up in order to get her pants the rest of the way off.

"I am laying down," he pointed out, laughing. "I can't get them down all the way!"
