Room 209, Saturday afternoon

After talking with Isabel in the gym, Aeryn heads back up to her room. She's been given something to think about, even though she doesn't even know how to broach the topic with John at the moment. Which is fine as he's currently in detention anyway. Besides, they have to see Zhaan first, and that's going to take a bit of preparation as it is. She just isn't sure how much John will want to reveal and how much she'll have to say for him and how much trouble she'll get into about that. She's just had to learn how to be much more careful, that's all. It's a skill she should have had before.

She closes her door.

"Hi, Aeryn," Molly said as she entered the room. "I'm wondering about something and I'm hoping you can help me before I have to resort ot going to the sources."

"I heard about the fight between Angel and Anakin on the radio the other night," Molly said after just a moment of hesitation. "It sounded really bad. Like, more than just an accident while sparring. I was just wondering if you knew any more about it. I don't really want to go ask either of them because you know how boys are." She shrugged as if that comment needed no further explanation.

"I don't know too much," she says. "I've only spoken to Angel, and he didn't tell me how it started. Just that they got into a fight, and apparently he got stabbed, but at least he broke Anakin's wrist." Yes, there's an eyeroll involved here.

"Stabbed? Broken wrist? Were they trying to kill each other?" Molly asked in shock. She shook her head at the stupidity of boys.

"I have no idea," she says. "It may have been a sparring match that got out of control. I've had that happen. Of course, I never stabbed someone in the gym, either."

"Hrm," Molly chewed her bottom lip in thought. "I'll probably have to ask them anyway. Find out if this is more than just boys being stupid." She shook her head again.

"Most things are, I think," says Aeryn. "If we blamed everything on human male stupidity, they'd never be held accountable for anything."

"Very true." Molly grinned. "I guess I'll have to find out from one of them after all," she said with a sigh.

A different thought struck her. "Oh, hey. I never did thank you for the roller skates. They're really cool."

Molly grinned. "I like them," she said. "Oh, I asked John about your birthday. Did he ever tell you the day he chose?"

"Do you want to know?" Molly asked with a grin.

"April 17th," Molly said. "John said he wanted you to have a spring birthday."

"That's soon," she realizes. "Is there anything I have to do?"

Molly chuckled. "Not really. It's usually up to other people to plan a party and give you presents. It helps if people know it's your birthday though." She gave Aeryn a grin.

"But, I don't recommend the method I used." She rolled her eyes at herself. "I thought I was being subtle, but I guess I kind of wasn't. I can let people know though. If you want me to."

She shrugs a little. "I don't know. It doesn't really matter to me if people know or don't know, but I don't know what John wants to do. So I suppose it's up to you."

Molly smiled. "Birthdays are one of the easier things to get used to."

Molly tilted her head and gave Aeryn a look. "I know you have John, but if you ever have any questions about stuff that everybody else takes for granted, feel free to ask me."

Molly smiled back. "I should get going now. I still have homework to do. Thanks for telling me what you could about Angel and Anakin. I really hope that it was a sparring thing."

She moved back to the door and opened it. "And I will be telling people about your birthday. Because everybody needs a birthday party." She grinned again and gave Aeryn a small wave as she left.
