Room 209, Wednesday night

Aeryn is still not used to the look of the room. And yesterday was girltalking and talk of pink-wearing. And tomorrow is prom dress shopping. And Aeryn wants to know when her life got weird.

John's got the sea monkeys under one arm and he knocks with the other.

She opens the door to let him in. The sea monkeys, too. "Hi," she greets him.

"Hi honey." He leans in for a kiss...

She leans in, too, kissing him for a moment.

He smiles at her again and comes inside the room, closing the door behind him.

He waves to the monkeys on her bed. "How goes it?"

"I'm shopping for prom dresses and Rory frowned at me to make me wear pink. What happened to my life?" she wonders.

"Dresses?" John eyes her and grins. "You look good in dresses, honey."

"The dress is fine. I've done that before," she says, not mentioning detention at all. "But if Rory suggests that color I'm going to have to kill her and make apologies later to everyone else."

He just grins. He can't help it.

"What should I wear, do you think?"

"You said you were going to wear that suit thing from New Year's," she says. "I hope you haven't changed your mind."

Another grin. "Did you like that suit? I could buy a new one if you didn't."

"There hasn't been a suit I haven't liked you in," she says honestly. Then remembers homecoming preparations. "But no blue. Really."

"Okay. We'll see what I come up with," he replies. "Is there anything you wanted to do before prom? Dinner or something like we did for homecoming?"

"That wasn't horrible," she admits. "I haven't really thought too much about that."

Okay, he'll think about that one.

"Anything you wanna do after prom?"

That gets a little smile out of her. "There's always the obvious answer," she says. "Is there anything in particular we should be doing? I never know when I'm skipping over something."

"The obvious answer is what happens some of the time. We could also go for a walk, go to an after party, if there are any, or just come back and watch cartoons," he tells her. "Up to you, honey."

"I think watching cartoons is safely out," she says. "We could always just see how it goes. Whether or not it's 3 am by that time.. See what happens."

"Okay."

He toes off his shoes and belly flops on her bed.

Aeryn shakes her head and looks at the sea monkeys. "He's going to break it someday, jumping on it like that," she tells them.

"You're talking to the sea monkeys," John points out with a grin.

"They listen better."

"I love you too," he says, ignoring that. And then he gets up and, because he can, starts jumping on the bed.

They would never need children, so there goes worrying about that topic. "You have problems," she tells him simply.

He gestures her up on the bed with him.

"C'mon and bounce with me!"
