Room 209, Monday morning

Over the weekend, Aeryn had Dr. Suess read to her, played in an elevator and tried to explore the sixth floor, learned how to play tag, learned how to swing and then was called nice by Piper, played on the slide with Anakin, was on the radio, sang in the common room to Smile Time, told Angela she couldn't be a Peacekeeper, decided to share Callisto's sister thusly making them sisters, was called a baby by Cam, declined to cuddle Elizabeth's stuffed dog, made Parker cry, taught Jake to count, was friends with John and then wasn't friends and then they were soulmates, was told by Zhaan that boys are dumb, wore a folder helmet in the middle of Luke's, and then was proposed to and got married.

As she's waking up and remembering all of it.

And John's there next to her- very innocently again- and she can't even hide. She groans and thinks it's good that she washed her face. And made John wash his, if he was going to be in her room.

The groan's enough to wake John up. He opens his eyes and blinks a few times before smiling at Aeryn.

"Hello wife," he teases softly.

John giggles and stretches lazily. "You have a cute nose."

Aeryn groans again, because there's nothing hard enough right here to bash her head against. "Just tell me there's nowhere on this planet that would consider a marriage between children legal."

Pouting a little, John asks, "You don't wanna be married to me?"

"I was five cycles old," she reminds him, sitting up. "Not exactly in the best state to make any decisions!"

John laughs again, turning onto his side.

"You were a very cute bride." Yeah, this is fun for him.

Aeryn picks up her pillow and hits him with it.

John laughs and covers up.

"Hey! That's no way to treat your soulmate who gave you kisses!"

"You also shoved cake in my face," she says. "You're lucky I didn't make you cry again."

John grins again and crosses his arms behind his head.

"It was good cake."

"Apparently, as you kept kissing it off my face," she says.

More laughing. He's really amused.

"You kissed me a few times too, you know. And said you liked my hugs. And made me read to you."

Aeryn covers her face with her hands. "I'm never going to be able to leave this room again. Unfortunately, I think you'd stay just to give me a hard time."

"You'd be right." He sits up to kiss her cheek. "Hi soulmate."

She looks at him and asks, "So what was that dren about you protecting me because you're the man? Hm?"

"Well..." Okay, he hadn't really thought about the consequences of that one. "At that age, I thought that was how it goes. And you were smaller than me."

"I had no problem stomping on your foot, though," she reminds him.

"I grew!" she says defensively.

John reaches up to rub her back. He glances around the room and notices the tv lying haphazardly on the floor.

"I had fun last night."
