Room 238, Monday evening

Aeryn's needed something to do all day, which is why 238 looks a lot neater than it has in a while. It's impossible not to think, so she hasn't tried to avoid it, she just had to be doing something as she did that. The gym yesterday had helped a lot, though she has to wonder when she learned to do the talking thing, too.

Of course, once that's done, she tries to busy herself in other ways, including being very annoyed at the television and everything on it. There was even a special trip back to 209 for the Nerf gun. Things are happier when she shoots stuff, it's weird.

John's not expecting Aeryn to be there when he opens the door but the surprise is pleasant and he's already smiling.

And then he notices the room...

"Been busy?"

"A little bit," she says, putting her feet up on the table as she fires another Nerf dart towards the television.

"Are you attempting to destroy my television?" John asks, peering around the room and checking to see what's been moving.

Aeryn removes one of the darts, squashing it against her own hand to show it's not dangerous, then reloads the faux weapon. "I think it'll live," she assures him.

"Where'd you put all my clothes?" John asks, looking at the spot his clothes pile used to be.

"Closet," she answers. "Drawers. Where clothes usually go."

"How very domestic of you," he teases.

She turns in her seat and fires a Nerf dart at him.

He lets it him and falls dramatically to the floor.

"I hope you learned your lesson," she tells him seriously.

"You have mortally wounded me, woman," John says, making gagging sounds.

She sighs, standing up, Nerf weapon still in hand just in case, heading over. "Suck it up."

"I am injured beyond repair," he says and twitches a few times.

"I'm out of darts," she notices.

"Are they all scattered around my bruised and battered television?" He grins up at her.

She sits beside him on the floor. "There are only a few. I had to keep getting up to pick them up and reload."

"How're you doing?" John asks.

Aeryn shrugs. "I'm all right," she says, and does sound it.

"Tell me a story," he asks.

"You wouldn't like my stories," she says, prodding him with her foot.

"Make one up," he says, "and tell me."

She sighs. "There was once a boy who was a frelling idiot and a girl who was much less of an idiot and it went badly, the end. And there was probably bloodshed because it's me telling it. I told you you wouldn't like my stories."

John giggles and scoots over to put his head in her lap.

"Tell me another."

"I'm out of stories," she says quietly, rubbing his shoulder. And that one kind of made her sad.

"Okay," he says. "Tell me about something embarassing that happened during your military training."
