Room 209, Wednesday night

Aeryn didn't feel like hitting things, but she made it as far as the lobby before noticing that yes, it is still raining pudding and that's too disgusting for her to deal with. Instead, she heads back up to her room to change before she heads over to 238.

Cameron stared at the door with a strange sense of déjà vu. He'd done this once before today and it hadn't turned out badly so maybe this wouldn't either. Taking a deep breath, he knocked on the door.

Aeryn stares at the door for a moment. It doesn't sound like John's knock- which would sound like him banging his head against the door, probably- and that means whoever it is, she probably doesn't want to talk to them. But, figuring it's on par for her week, she opens the door anyway. And doesn't say anything, though she's surprised to actually see Cameron there.

Silence is actually better than getting the door slammed right into his face, so he'll work with it.

"Yo," he says lamely. "Can we talk?"

Aeryn mentally writes off the rest of the week, saying "Sure," and letting him inside.

Cameron moves inside and turns to face her. He's still not sure exactly what he wants to say, but putting things off doesn't help.

"Do you remember that conversation we had when we realised that things were off, but we could keep trying or start afresh?"

She gives a little nod, as she's running into the same problem she always is lately, which is having no idea what to say.

And he's kinda fine with her silence for now as it means that he can keep his thoughts straight and get out what he wants to say.

"It didn't once cross my mind to just give up and walk away and I hate that that just happened. I know I messed up and I'm sorry that I shut you out and that things ended up the way they did. I can't undo that, but I can change and try to do better. I'm not expecting you to take my word for it, I know it's going to take time for you to trust me again, but I want to try to make it right."

Aeryn just shrugs. "Fine," she says.

That... stops him right in his tracks and he blinks. "Just like that?"

In all reality, Aeryn figures she might as well say what's easy, and if Cameron does nothing else like she's expecting him to, at least she knows it isn't her fault. She's just tired. "Yeah."

Cameron frowns and tilts his head because this wasn't what he was expecting. "Can I ask why the sudden change of heart?"

Tired enough for honesty. "It's less drama to see what happens," she says simply.

He gives her a wry smile. "I'm sorry that that's all."

Aeryn just nods. "So am I." She doesn't get more specific.

He nods and meets her eyes. "I can try to make things right, Aeryn. I will try, but I can't fix this on my own," he says softly.

Another nod. "I'm aware."

"Okay," he glances at the door and sighs. "We'll talk more when you're up to it."

"No. Start from scratch," she says, because she knows now that she's not up for talking. Him not being around and then pretending to talk like everything's normal was what set her off in the first place. "Later."

He frowns because that's exactly why they should talk more, but he's tired too so he just nods and leaves with a 'Bye'.
