Mostly room 209, Saturday morning
Jun. 10th, 2006 09:18 amAeryn wakes up early, almost automatically feeling ready to do whatever she needs to do today. You'd think she'd been born to fight things or something. Of course, any tough warriorness she might feel is slightly marred when she looks over and sees the kitten from yesterday sleeping on John's head.
She gets up out of bed quietly, so as not to disturb either of them- not so much to be nice but because he can probably handle a clingy yet adorable kitten better than she can- but as soon as she's standing, the kitten has made its way underfoot and is attemping to play with her bare toes.
"Ow," Aeryn hisses. "None of that."
The kitten swipes at her little toe in reply.
She spends quite a bit of time trying to tell the kitten no, and then looking over at John to make sure she didn't wake him up, and then being completely ignored by the little ball of fluff. Aeryn gives up, changes clothes, and heads back to her own room. She still has to stop every two seconds because the kitten is trying to play with her shoelaces.
"Stay out here," she orders it when she gets to her door.
The kitten meows adorably.
"Stay." She tried to open the door just wide enough for her to get in, but the kitten actually fights her for dibs on the room, and proceeds to dash under the bed.
Not liking having anything play around under there, Aeryn spends no less than fifteen minutes trying to coax it out. At one point, she threatens to skin the kitten, thinking that might work better. It just blinks at her and cares not for threats.
At this point, Aeryn realizes that leaving the room might be a good idea. She'll have to deal with the damn thing later, but later is not now and it's this or punch a wall. She gets up slowly, making her way back to the door-
And the kitten jabs its nails into her ankle.
"Go home," Aeryn tells it. "Don't you have a mother to get back to or something?"
The kitten makes another swipe for her ankle, and catches on her pant leg. Aeryn lifts her leg to shake the kitten off. It doesn't work. That doesn't stop her from still trying, though, at one point leaning against the wall so she doesn't fall over as she's attempting to free herself. The kitten thinks it's a game.
"I have things to do today," she says, setting her foot back down, and immediately the kitten is in front of her door again, trying to block her path.
"Let me out." It doesn't occur to Aeryn that she just told a weetiny kitten that it's preventing her from leaving the room.
The kitten yawns and lays down.
