Aeryn's seen pictures of sharks before. Looking at the tank, and all the things in it, up to and including said shark is a little bit confusing.

"I think they lied to you at the store," Aeryn says.

"Probably still in the ocean or somewhere else," John says and makes some more face. Bruno, for his part, swims around lazily.

"That doesn't sound very fair," says Aeryn, who might have some issues with that kind of thing.

"I'm sorry," he says quietly. "I don't know where his mom is. I'd have gotten her if I did."

She just nods, and changes the subject. "So how did you think it was a good idea to tell Zack to hug me?"

"Everyone likes hugs?" He laughs and hugs her just to prove that.

"Not everyone," she says, not fighting him at all on the hug itself. "You're allowed. And Molly. Everyone else should state their reason first and I'll possibly consider it."

John laughs again. "You sound so formal about your hugs."

"I'm not exactly a hugger, in case it's escaped your notice," she explains, though she's perfectly happy with his arms around her.

"You're hugging me right now," he points out. Yeah, he knows it's different but he says it anyway.

"Actually, I think you're hugging me," Aeryn counters.

"You're hugging back!"

"Maybe I'm just not stopping you."

"That's because you loooooooooooove me," he says and yes, he does say it like that.

She turns her head to look at him, raising an eyebrow at the way it's said.

"What?" He grins at her.

"You what me?"

"I loooooooooooooooooooove you," he repeats.

She smiles a little, and says, "Say it right."

"No." He winks at her. "I looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove you."

"I want to hear it right," she says quietly.

"Do you?" Of course he's going to say it but he likes this. "Why?"

"I want you to say it like you mean it. I like to hear it."

His smile softens and he says, "I love you."

"I love you, too," she says, smiling again. "Was that so difficult?"

"No. But the other way I said it, it still means I love you."
