The canon: On Farscape, Aeryn Sun is a Peacekeeper Commando, a pilot and soldier. In the pilot episode she ends up aboard a living ship called Moya, where she beats up John Crichton and they totally fall in love and get married. Eventually. Aeryn's the one Peacekeeper who's slightly different than all the others, but she doesn't really see it until she's deemed irreversibly contaminated and can't go back to the PK's, and has to go on the run with the fugutives on Moya.

She's Sebacean, which is a sort of genetic grandchild to human, with tweaking. They're more or less the same, though turning up the heat will make her twitch from heat delirium and beg to die. (Aeryn has had some experiences with it in Fandom, and while she's less twitchy about keeping it a secret, it's a weakness she doesn't want spread around.) Also, stay away from stabbing her paraphoral nerve. It's not pretty. She thinks humans are inferior because John is her exposure to the species. My girl may be a little racist? speciesist? but she also took like, no provocation to making out with the hot human guy, so it's not that ingrained in her. Being raised as a Peacekeeper, she's very well trained in combat and weaponry, and on the show a comment is made about her even showering with her pulse rifle. This is not a stretch of the imagination. Stop picturing Claudia Black naked.

Tweaking canon: At first played just as a 16-year-old Aeryn, Peacekeeper training-in-progress, this changed the second other Farscape people came into the game. She knew Chiana, she knows John, but she hasn't been on Moya. She's just basically AU. Recently, she's found out that she exists in the reality that Chiana and Zhaan and Stark come from, and it's bothering her a lot.

And my girl got herself kicked out of the Peacekeepers. The story has worked into gameplay, but not everyone is going to hear it. Aeryn has gotten better about telling people this sort of thing, but most people only have part of the story, and how much she'll tell you is debatable. At least she introduces herself to newbies as ex-military now. She also keeps her Prowler in the Imperial Junkyard, where it is guarded by troopers. Four people total know about this.


About Aeryn: Aeryn's not the type to reach out to other people. She has managed to branch and make a lot friends outside her normal type, though. Feel free to talk to her, though she might not like you. Considering that she loved the Peacekeeper life and could easily put that in context with the dorms, she'll at least give you a try. She does have a boyfriend in John Crichton (whitedeathpod), which yes, is canon, but I'm having way too much fun and the angst would kill a city block if they ever seriously broke up again, so deal. They're already planning on life after Fandom, and both wear rings that look a lot like wedding rings, if that isn't a clue.

She has absolutely no problem with anyone knowing who and what she is. In fact, she assumes everyone knows and gets a little annoyed when mistaken for human. A while back, Aeryn discovered that people pretty close to her didn't know her actual species. She will openly talk about her life as a Peacekeeper, and doesn't hide the fact that she thinks all of you are weird.

Also a random note that doesn't fit anywhere else: Aeryn doesn't speak English. She speaks Sebacean and you'd actually need translator microbes to understand her (she has them, which is why she understands everyone else), but I'm handwaving that detail. Unfortunately the microbes don't translate written words, so she's a little lot lost. She can read now, but you'll see her reading things aloud most of the time, because otherwise she won't be able to understand the words. Because Farscape canon makes no sense on this point.


Living situation: Aeryn left 239/240 and moved into room 209 on her own after returning from the Peacekeepers. [Floorplan here.] The picture Anakin gave her for Christmas is above the desk, which is also home to a growing stack of pictures and notes that just haven't made it onto the wall. There is now a plant from Zero. The picture Isabel gave her for her birthday is also there, along with two posters from John. Above her bed are two fighting sticks given by Peter Parker. The polar bear pictures are on the wall, behind the door. Weird place, sure.

Oddly enough, after that whole paragraph? You're still more likely to find her in 238.
