The gym, Thursday afternoon

Aeryn has been spending a lot of time at the gym this week, which isn't out of the ordinary, but she doesn't like the reasoning behind it. She doesn't want to be frustrated, but Crichton frelling brings it out of her. Yesterday resulted in bruised and scraped knuckles, so today she's wearing gloves as she beats on the punching bag.

He wants to help? Fine. Except he's not frelling helping.


(OOC: Feel free to antagonize/cheer her up. Either one might make her feel better and if she gets any more emo on me, I swear to god she's ending up strapped to something at the bottom of a large body of water.)

"I'll tell you the whole boring saga sometime over drinks, if you want, but not tonight." She sighs, "I'm trying to pull myself out of a funk, not dig myself deeper."

"Right. Out of funks," Aeryn nods. "What's yours?"

"Opposite of yours, actually," she laughs. "I've got a guy who won't talk about things at all, so I have no idea what's going on."

Aeryn pauses. Maybe this is a learning experience. "What happened?"

The words pour out of Sam in a rush. "I broke up with a perfectly nice guy so I could be with this other guy who I'd been waiting for for practically forever," she said throwing up her hands and pacing on the mats. "Then, I tell the guy, and he tells me in an extremely roundabout way, that he's made plans to go out with another girl!"

"As if alcohol was an excuse," she mutters to herself, then stops. "Not like he told me to dump this other guy, but...AUGH!" She takes a few swings at the punching bag.

Aeryn listens with raised eyebrows. "I can hurt him for you, if you want."

Sam considers that for a full minute. "Thanks, I appreciate that. Really. I'll definitely keep it in mind."

"I'm assuming something happened with this guy to make you break up with the other one," Aeryn says. "And if the first guy is seeing another girl after that..."

"I don't know if the first guy is seeing anyone yet. We've been avoiding each other and I've been hiding from his mother." She shrugged. "I thought something happened, but apparently I completely misread him and the situation because he didn't actually talk to me about, well, anything."

She looked at Aeryn. "So, maybe it's not so bad if you've got a guy who likes to talk sometimes, that's all I'm saying."
