Room 238, Thursday early afternoon

Aeryn's learned one really important lesson in the last year or so, namely that there is a big difference between random emo and dealing with the fallout of being under a lot of stress. And despite yesterday's talk, she's okay with taking some extra time to do her usual run around the preserve a second time. She'd had a lot of energy she just needed to burn off.

So she's in a better mood when she comes back to the room, though she's not sure how long that will last, if today's anything like yesterday.

"I'll be paying for their classes so they can get over it. You can be my study buddy."

"Your... study buddy?" she asks, gesturing him over to the couch.

He walks over and takes a seat next to her. "Study buddy. One who helps me study by looking cute and cuddly."

"Somehow I think that might be difficult," she says.

"You underestimate the levels you can motivate me," he says.

"By being cute."

"Yes."

"I think you give too much credit," she says seriously.

"I don't," he says, leaning back against the couch and relaxing slightly.

"I think we'll have to agree to disagree," she tells him, moving a little closer.

"Okay," he says, moving his arm up to the top of the couch to give her some room.

She sits back, leaning against him a little. "We all right?"

"Yeah," he says, dropping his arm across her shoulders.

"Good," she says, dropping her head onto his shoulder.

He rubs her shoulder and rests his head against hers.

"You okay?" she asks quietly. Weirdly, after all this it doesn't seem right to not be saying something.

"I'm okay," he says quietly. "Are you?"

"Mm hm," she says, finding his hand with hers.

"Good," he says, squeezing her hand and going quiet.
