Room 238, Tuesday morning

Aeryn's not doing a lot of sleeping right now, mostly because she's watching John like something's going to happen. She's dealt with all of this before and hadn't expected to have to do it again, and she really can't imagine being him and having someone talking in your brain all the time.

She's on her side, head propped up on her elbow, unabashedly watching to make sure he's okay.

John yawns and rubs his eyes before opening them and frowning at her.

"Hi," she says, brushing at a little bid of bedhead he's got going on.

"Hi," he says sleepily.

"Sleep okay?" she asks quietly.

"Yeah," he says, still trying to wake up. "You?"

"Mm hm," she lies, still playing with his hair. She can cover up being a little tired, though. For two days in a row.

He nods and rubs his eyes some more.

"It's early," Aeryn tells him. "You could probably sleep longer if you want."

"I'm not tired anymore," he says, blinking and waking up a little more.

"You okay?" Might as well just ask.

"Yeah," he says, looking at her. Well, it's kind of true.

"Good," she says, stroking the back of her hand against his cheek. Not that she's worried or anything.

"Are you?"

She nods. "Why wouldn't I be?"

"Just asking," he says, tucking an arm under his head.

"Completely fine," she says, and leans over to kiss him good morning.

He smiles a little and kisses her back.

"Ready for tomorrow?" she asks with a little teasing smile.

"What's tomorrow?" he asks teasingly.

"I seem to recall there being some sort of holiday..." Aeryn trails off.

"Oh, the one with hearts and flowers and love stuff, huh?"

"Yes, I'm pretty sure I remember something about that," she says mock seriously.

"Yeah, I think that is tomorrow," he says. "Gonna wear a pink dress?"

She snorts at that. "Amazingly not."

"Damn." He tries to look sad.
