Room 238, evening

Aeryn hasn't seen John for a while. Given the announcement she'd heard, that worries her. She wonders if there's a school form of jail that isn't detention and whether he's landed himself in it. However, since she hasn't gotten any phone calls, she's expecting him to show up eventually so she might as well go about things as normal.

After going for a run, she comes back to the room, goes to get fresh clothes-

And as soon as she hears the sound coming out of the closet she shuts the door really quickly and decides she's not doing that again without a weapon.

John finally returns, toting Bertram under one arm. He sets the DRD on the floor and Bertram zips away.

"Hey," he says to Aeryn.

"Hi," she says, still eying the closet warily. "Long meeting this morning?"

"Meeting?" he asks, kicking off his shoes.

She raises an eyebrow. "I'm pretty sure I heard your name in Dean Tick's announcement," she says.

"Oh, that," he says. "I wouldn't really call it a meeting. It was a pleasant visit with the principal and the Dean of students."

"What did you do?"

She hasn't actually asked that in a while.

"Why couldn't we just be catching up with our lovely administration?"

She just looks at him.

"It could happen!"

"With the Dean telling you all not to damage any school property until the meeting."

John shrugs. "Well, okay, we might've done something that they wanted to see us for."

"Which was?" she prods.

He smiles. "Redecorating."

Aeryn waits for the rest of that because she knows that's not the real story.

"We blew up the Stickbug cabin," he says.

"...What."

He smiles at her. "It was for a good cause."

"You blew up the cabin," she repeats. "On purpose?"

"Yep," he says, doing a flip onto the bed.

"Now, you did say Stickbug and not Meerkat, right?"

"We blew up the Stickbug cabin," he says, looking at her from his upside down spot on the bed.

"I could have helped," Aeryn says.

"I don't doubt that," he says. "But it was a 'now or not' type thing. It was for Jamie."

"What about him?" she asks, frowning. She almost doesn't want to know, because... well, she knows Jamie.

"Some guy was here, trying to take him home or something," John says.
