Room 238, Sunday morning

Yesterday Aeryn graduated, watched the school blow up, killed some aliens, and got engaged.

Guess which one of those things is still sinking in.

She's awake, still not moving, and occasionally looking at the ring because she can't believe it's there.

He smiled and snuggled back against her, putting his cold nose against her neck.

She laughs a little, telling him, "You're cold."

"Just a little." And he puts his cold feet on her legs.

There's something almost like an "eep" noise. "Cold!" she accuses.

"You steal blankets!"

"Get used to it."

He had a retort ready to go and that just killed it. All he can do is giggle.

She just smiles at him. Seriously, her face is going to hurt later.

"You know, this mean you're not my girlfriend anymore," he says.

She raises her eyebrows at that. "Oh?"

"Nope," he says. "Now, you're my fiancee."

"Fiancee," she repeats, like she's trying the word out.

"Sounds kinda funny, doesn't it?"

"A little," she admits.

"You can just call me John," he says and kisses her chin.

"And if I was planning to do that anyway?"

"Then, you're a step ahead of me."

"I usually am," she says.

"You usually are," he says and rolls until he's covering her body with his own.

"I'm glad you recognize that," she says, reaching up to kiss him.

He smiles and kisses her back, resting his forehead against hers. "But I'm the funnier one."

"You can have that," she agrees.

"I wanna be the taller one too."

"What if I grow?" She won't.

"I think you're done growing," he says, kissing her chin.
