It's a good thing Aeryn got over that slight technophobia a while back, because she's spending a lot of time on the computer lately. Dress shopping is Tuesday, and she figures it's a good idea to do some research beforehand, just so she can't be talked into anything she shouldn't be.

Rory bounces down the hall, bored and kind of with the everything-hating if she sits still long enough.

So she knocks on the door of 238, because what can make her feel better about her own doomed love life than talking about wedding planning?

Aeryn gets up, leaving the laptop open on the table as she goes to answer the door. "Hi," she greets Rory, opening the door for her.

"Hi!" Rory says. "So I was thinking about stuff and do you guys want an ice sculpture?"

Aeryn blinks. "A... what? Why?"

"A sculpture made of ice. Some people have them at their weddings."

"Won't it melt?" she wonders. Maybe an obvious question...

"Eventually, but they're like, really big," Rory says helpfully. "So it'll melt like three days later or something."

"So... essentially, we'd be paying for frozen water," Aeryn says slowly.

"Carved into something pretty!"

Yeah, Rory kind of knows she's not selling Aeryn on this.

"I think we can use that part of the budget for something el- I really just said that, didn't I?"

"You did," Rory says, nodding. "We can put it towards flowers! Or food!"

"I've decided there's too much to do in..." She pauses, counting. "Six months. I'm out of my frelling mind."

"It's not that bad," Rory says, shaking her head. "Besides, you have help."

"Yeah," she says appreciatively. "Oh, by the way. I talked to Sam about being in the wedding. She said she could be in Alexandria by Tuesday to do the dress shopping thing."

Rory grins at that. "Awesome. And the dresses are one of the more fun parts, honest."

"I've never really considered shopping fun," Aeryn says.

"But you get to pick out clothes and make fun of ugly ones?" she says.

Why not just leave the ugly ones where they are and never speak of them?"

Rory stares at her. "Because they'll be really, really hideous."

"Exactly."

"I'm still not there," she says. "Though you can try to show me what you mean." Girl's learned to compromise, woo!

Rory sighs. "You'll totally see. And hey, after you get the dresses out of the way it's just a matter of figuring out the basic stuff. Do you know anything about what you want to do for the reception?"

"Not yet," she says. "John's still saying he'll handle the location and doesn't want help. I think we need that before we can start thinking more in depth... Right?"

"It depends. You should maybe start getting ideas now so it's not overwhelming later, you know?" Rory says. "Like, okay, your colors are red and black, right? Do you want that for your overall color scheme, beyond what we're wearing and carrying?"
