Aeryn's learned that some dates have meaning, that the time between one yearly milestone and the next can be a really big deal. Thinking from last August 13 to this one, making it through an entire year almost deserves a congratuations.

Which is why she's seriously pissed off that the little blonde bitch with the stupid name that she never remembers called in sick again and didn't get anyone to cover for her, which means Aeryn is pulling a double shift on her anniversary and trying really hard not to threaten customers or coworkers.

She made another move for the wig. "I'd like to see you," she said.

He laughed and pulled the wig, mustache and glasses off, dropping them on the floor. "Ta da!"

John waved to Mark for fun and offered Aeryn some more milkshake.

She shook her head and said, "You're just determined to make friends, aren't you?"

"If I was determined to make friends, I do this," he said and stood up to wave at the hostess near the door.

The hostess frowned and waved back, giving Aeryn a wtf face. Aeryn wouldn't have been able to explain it anyway.

"I'd go see if your food is ready, but I'm afraid to leave you alone," she said.

"I'll be good," he said and sat back down, hands clasped in front of him.

She didn't believe that at all, and her expression might have said so as she wandered back towards the kitchen.

John threw a napkin at the hostess and then looked the other way before she could see who'd done it.

The hostess felt it hit her in the neck, and turned around before going back to the customer she was seating. Still, she was wiping her neck in case anything was on it.

Aeryn came back with the plate, setting it down on the table in front of him. "There you go."

"See, I was good!" John grinned brightly.

"Well, no angry mob..." Aeryn said, looking around.

He grinned. And then started eating.

Seeing someone at another table do the international signal for "No, seriously, over here", Aeryn said, "I have to get this. Don't cause an incident while I'm across the room."

"I'll be fine," John said and, as soon as she wasn't looking, he chucked a ketchup packet at the hostess.

Aeryn didn't see it, but the hostess did. And the hostess pulled Aeryn over when she could.

Which was why Aeryn wandered back over. "John?"

"Hmmm?" John asked, a mozzarella stick in his mouth.

"Don't throw things at the hostess," she said.

"Well, then take it under advisement as something not to do."

"I will," he said and offered her a mozzarella stick.

She took it, and said, "Sorry I had to be here tonight."

"Why?" He smiled at her. "I'm having fun! Tell them it's my birthday and we'll get cake!"

"No, because then I have to sing," she said quickly. "Again."
