Rehearsal dinner- Restaurant in Cambridge- Friday night

Friday was busier than Aeryn had anticipated somehow, with people coming in from out of town, followed by the rehearsal at the hotel where the ceremony and reception would take place. And personally, she had no idea how anyone remembered how all of this sort of thing went, and she thought it was kind of stupid how much emphasis was put on something as simple as walking, but she'd go with it, as apparently these things were important. Or something.

Afterwards, the group made their way to a pizza place nearby to settle in and settle down and have one good night out before tomorrow got more stressful.


[Up early for SP. For bridal party, dates, and other guests to the Friday thingie yay!
ETA: For clarification, cuz a couple people have asked. If you were told you were welcome to the dinner, you were invited. Otherwise the wedding stuff takes place tomorrow.]

"Thanks!" John grinned and nodded. "So far, we're good. No firearms have been discharged."

"Which is not to say they couldn't have been if they'd been needed," she pointed out, "but that's for the wedding party to worry about, not you guys."

"And I'm sure, with the addition of more people tomorrow, that likelihood will increase," John said. "I should start a pool."

"You should not." Yes, that was both immediate and automatic. "Just...you guys be happy, let us take care of the rest."

"I like pools!" John said, nodding. "And forts."

"No forts," Sam facepalmed. "Please tell me there are no forts."

Sam realized she was going to have to talk to Anakin about this and decided to change the subject. "How was the bachelor party?"

"I got a tattoo," John said proudly.

"Of what?" She wasn't sure she wanted to know where.

"Oh, that's sweet." She smiled a little goofily, "Still hurt?"

"Not really," he said. "It's small, out of the way and only two letters. I was too big a chicken for more. One of the guys made the mistake of joking Anakin's hair though."

"Do I want to know what happened next?" Notice she didn't ask why they were joking about his hair.

"Well, Anakin asked me as question, and then there was noise, and then we left," John said, smiling.

"What question?" Sam glanced over at Anakin. "How are you not in jail?"

"Well, he just let me know there was a change of plans and I got behind him," John said. "And we're not in jail because Anakin knows what he's doing."

She reached over to hug him. "You guys are going to do great things together."
