Rehearsal dinner- Restaurant in Cambridge- Friday night

Friday was busier than Aeryn had anticipated somehow, with people coming in from out of town, followed by the rehearsal at the hotel where the ceremony and reception would take place. And personally, she had no idea how anyone remembered how all of this sort of thing went, and she thought it was kind of stupid how much emphasis was put on something as simple as walking, but she'd go with it, as apparently these things were important. Or something.

Afterwards, the group made their way to a pizza place nearby to settle in and settle down and have one good night out before tomorrow got more stressful.


[Up early for SP. For bridal party, dates, and other guests to the Friday thingie yay!
ETA: For clarification, cuz a couple people have asked. If you were told you were welcome to the dinner, you were invited. Otherwise the wedding stuff takes place tomorrow.]

"Yes," she said, and explained, "I went to two homecomings and proms. Don't think I didn't attempt it."

"Have I mentioned lately I'm glad you're around?" Big admission from Aeryn, but come on. That sort of thing deserved it.

"That goes both ways, in case you're wondering," and wow, that was almost mushy, for them. "Are you nervous?"

She shook her head. "I'm very calm. I have no idea why."

"Maybe because you know it's the right thing to do?"

"Actually, it feels much like the night before you know you're going into battle." She paused. "is that bad?"

She thought about that. "I'm not sure?"

Another pause. "I'm going to say it's not."

"Let's go with that, then," she nodded. "I wish I could be more helpful, but...never got married, and there were cold feet issues."

"Cold feet?" she asked with raised eyebrows.

"Old expression," she explained. "About those last minute jitters before the wedding."

"They're normal?" she asked, wondering if it was bad that she didn't have them.

"For some people--mine were so bad I called off the wedding," she said, "but not everyone has them. Some people--I've heard--get so excited that they don't sleep for days beforehand."

"Are you sure they're excited, or do they just have too much to plan?" Not that Aeryn had really hated that part or anything.
