The flipside of getting a chance to go out and help save a friend and hurt some things in the process was that afterwards, it was back to normal things, like filling out job applications in front of the TV and feeling uncomfortable in the current style of clothes. There might have been a little part of her that wondered if it would be wrong to wear a pulse pistol around the apartment, just for the night.

"Liar," he said, crawling closer and nuzzling her neck.

"Am not," she countered, but slid a hand around to rest on his back,

"You are," he said and bit her neck lightly.

She gasped, smiling. "You seem to be hitting on me," she noticed.

"I have to hit on my own wife?" John asked, licking the area he'd just bitten. And maybe he just liked calling her that.

"I didn't say you had to," she said, her other hand already sneaking just under his shirt.

"Ah," he said, moving to kiss her cheek and jaw. "Do you like when I hit on you?"

"I don't hate it," she allowed, tilting her face towards him.

"Such a vague answer," he said before kissing her.

She didn't bother with the standard "Mm hm" response, too busy with the kissing thing.

"Do you like when I kiss you?" John asked, pulling back and tugging on her lower lip.

"I wouldn't be here if I didn't," she answered, grazing her thumb over his side.

"I have other good qualities beside just kissing," he said and slid his mouth along her jaw before kissing her ear.

Yeah, she knew that much. She played along anyway, tilting her head to give him room and asking, "Such as?"

"Opposable thumbs so I can do this," he said and started tugging up her shirt.

Keeping an eye on the door, just in case, she smiled and moved her hands up to his shoulders to give him room to work.

John slipped her shirt off and tossed it aside, leaning in to suck and lick at her neck and shoulder.

She tilted her head back more, hands back at the hem of his shirt to start working it up.

John decided to be helpful and started wriggling out of his shirt, very thankful that the apartment was heated and that her hands were warm.

She gave any needed assistance as long as it got him shirtless and back to kissing, then immediately got to work on undoing his pants.

"Eager," he said, smiling at her. "You'll have to keep me warm."

"I think I can manage that," she grinned, and noticed a problem in getting his pants off in this position.

"Need me to move?" John asked, looking down at her hands.

"Mm hm," she said, moving one hand to lightly push at his chest, as if that wasn't a hint.

"Want me to lay down?" John asked, resisting just slightly.
