Room 209, Sunday afternoon/evening

After leaving Sanctity, Aeryn's really impressively agitated. She's on the phone as soon as she's out the door, heading back to the dorms.

And once she's back there, she opens the door to 209 and waits.

"Hm." He tries to sneak a quick glance towards the corner before looking back at her. "What're you doing?"

"Handwavey schoolwork," she tells him. "Nothing too important."

"Oh." For once, John's having a hard time in thinking of some form of conversation. Almost speechless. "How are you?"

"I'm okay," she says, getting up to sit on the edge of the bed. "Was I missing something earlier?"

"Huh?" John tries the idiot tactic to avoid that question.

Aeryn turns to look at that one corner, and raises her eyebrows at him.

"There's nothing there," he says quickly and turns over on his side so he doesn't have to look at the corner.

"No, there isn't," she says. And trying to lighten the mood maybe a little, says, "Maybe I should put something there?"

"Could put some of your pictures from before up there," John suggests. "Me as an animal?"

"The one of you as that scary thing with the claws stays hidden," she says immediately. "Maybe under the bed."

That makes him smiles a little.

A ferris wheel turns. Cotton candy on a stick. More laughter.

John tries to ignore it this time, closing his eyes and pretending to yawn. It might look painful though.

Aeryn looks a little concerned, because yawns aren't supposed to hurt. "Did you have a favorite?" she wonders.

"Um. I liked being the dog most, I think. I got to talk to Vladdie," John says, trying to keep everything normal.

"You talked to the vampire puppy?" asks Aeryn, who doesn't think she heard that part.

"Yes," John replies. "Or he talked to me. Whatever, I talked to Vladdie. He's nice. Uppity but nice."

Aeryn's trying really hard not to smile. "Rory's vampire puppy is uppity. I would never have guessed."

She pauses, and frowns. "I'll find something," she says slowly. "What is it about that corner?"
