Room 209, Saturday afternoon

After talking with Isabel in the gym, Aeryn heads back up to her room. She's been given something to think about, even though she doesn't even know how to broach the topic with John at the moment. Which is fine as he's currently in detention anyway. Besides, they have to see Zhaan first, and that's going to take a bit of preparation as it is. She just isn't sure how much John will want to reveal and how much she'll have to say for him and how much trouble she'll get into about that. She's just had to learn how to be much more careful, that's all. It's a skill she should have had before.

She closes her door.

[Knocking is perfectly acceptable.]

"Yeah, I think I can see that." Cameron says as he moves further into the room and turns to face her.

She closes the door. "What did he do?" she asks.

"Hard to tell," Cameron says honestly, because he still doesn't understand exactly what was going on. "He kept getting distracted, pissed off at someone who apparently wasn't me but I have no clue who else he could have been talking to. He even started flailing about at some point."

About normal, then. And she recognizes the futility in asking Did he do anything strange? "He does that," she says.

"I'm pretty sure this is a new development," Cameron says.

It feels like she's been watching it too long for it to be new.

While she didn't tell Isabel, she came close. And Cameron's seen it, John told him she knew what was happening... "He's having hallucinations," she says.

"Hallucinations?" It's not exactly a surprise because it explains his behaviour, but it takes a minute to sink in anyway. "Of what?"

"Scorpius," she says. "He doesn't want anyone to know what's happening. I finally talked him into seeing someone."

"Scorpius..." He's stuck repeating her words. "I thought you said he was alright."

"He was," says Aeryn. "I told him what I found out about Scorpius, and... I don't know if it was too much and he snapped, or... I don't know."

"You think John's going crazy because he can't handle whatever Scorpius is going to do with him?" Cameron asks, trying to understand.

"Scorpius isn't going to do anything with him," she says. "First, what happened in that other reality is not going to happen here. Second, Scorpius' transport blew up before it even left the atmosphere. He can't do anything."

"John's got to believe that too," he points out, but he frowning as he says it.

"John believes there's someone talking to him at all hours of the day and night. He isn't exactly thinking clearly," Aeryn counters.

"Chicken and the egg," Cameron mumbles, more to himself than anything else. His frown deepens and he rubs the back of his neck as he thinks it over. "What did you tell him?"

"About which part?"

"Scorpius, you said you found things out about him and John started to act strange after that."

"Where come from, he's the enemy," Aeryn says, and she's wary of telling the exact details about what he did to be the enemy. It's not just her story. "The kind that will do anything to anyone as long as it lets him achieve his goal. John isn't used to dealing with that sort of person."

"And John was a way to get to his goal?" Cameron asks, managing not to ask if she is used to dealing with people like that.

"Apparently," she shrugs.

"It doesn't add up," he's back to talking to himself. "Last time we thought John lost, it turned out to be Drusilla."

Her eyes go wide. Parker told her Drusilla left while Aeryn was still with the Peacekeepers, but she does remember the threat Drusilla made against John. And now she's wondering if it's possible she didn't actually leave.

"Not that I'm saying it's her," Cameron quickly adds as he sees her reaction. "I don't think she's around anymore. Molly and I searched the entire island when Darla poisoned Angel. We didn't run into any vampires at all."

"Yeah," she nods, still thinking.

"All I'm saying is that it's Fandom and maybe there's another explanation beside him going crazy?" He sighs and rubs a hand through his hair. It's just that he's not sure what other explanation to give.

He watches Aeryn for a moment, realising they've only talked about John. "How are you doing?" He asks softly.
