Room 238, Sunday afternoon

Aeryn is just about to step out of the shower when she hears a now-familiar little bark. At eye level. Her first reaction is to hide mostly behind the shower curtain. "No playing now," she says. "Let me get dressed first."

Vladdie barks again and tries to lick her nose.

"Yes, thank you," Aeryn tells him. "Out of the bathroom. Then we'll play."

Vladdie licks her chin this time.

Aeryn sighs.

"Do you wanna eat the sea monkeys?" John asks Yoda.

Yoda is still a turtle.

"You're talking to a turtle," Aeryn says helpfully.

"Like you didn't talk to Vladdie yesterday," John says and smiles at Yoda.

"He likes it," says Aeryn, and Vladdie barks quietly before going back to the bottle.

"So does Yoda," says John and taps on the glass.

Yoda doesn't move.

"Uh huh," says Aeryn. Seeing Vladdie's finished the bottle, she hands him over to John, and goes to wash it out. Because old blood in the sink, ew.

John takes Vladdie and proceeds to cuddle him and coo at him. He might look very cute.

He does, and Aeryn is definitely not smiling when she washes the bottle out. Nope. When she comes back, she asks, "Enjoying the company?"

"He's cute," John says and coo's at Vladdie again.

Aeryn looks at Bertram. "And yet you jump at the opportunity to take pictures of me."

Bertram bloops at her and takes a picture of John cuddling Vladdie.

"Thank you," Aeryn tells him, smiling.

"What're you gonna do with that one?" John asks, rocking Vladdie a bit to get him to sleep.

"I'll figure out something," she says, frowning as she watches him, because she's never seen that before.

He continues to rock him and walks around the room, hoping the gentle motion puts Vladdie to sleep.

"Does that do anything?" she asks.

"Sometimes the motion puts them to sleep," John answers.

"Well, you have more experience with dogs than I do," she says, taking a seat on the bed.

John smiles down at Vladdie, walks over to Aeryn and puts Vladdie on her head.

"Oh, don't do that, you're trying to get him to sleep," she says, reaching up carefully to get Vladdie off of her head.

"He was sleeping on your head!"

"I would move and disturb him," she points out.

John scoots up onto his bed and lays back. He motions Aeryn up. "Bring Vladdie."

Still careful with Vladdie in her lap, she moves back on the bed to join him.
