Room 209, Thursday evening

Aeryn's actually looking forward to the Coruscant trip tomorrow. It's her first time offplanet in months, and to be completely honest, she's looking forward to seeing where Anakin comes from. That also means she has to pack a little. The door's open, only because she's finding that all of her things are spread between 209 and 238, and every time she thinks she has everything, there's one more thing she's forgotten.

Traveling- even for a night- was much easier when everything was standard issue.

John comes down the hall and leans in the doorway.

"One night, right?" John asks because she's told him but he's nervous anyway.

Aeryn looks up at him. "Technically," she says, still folding a shirt to put in the bag. "We'll be back here the same day here. You won't even have time to miss me."

"Not true," John says. "I'll find the time."

The shirt makes its way into the bag, and Aeryn abandons packing for now. "There's no sense in it," she tells him. "I'm coming back. If I hadn't told you, you wouldn't even have known I was gone."

"Again, not true." He looks at her intently. "I've got no workshops tomorrow. I come and try to find you and find you gone. Thank god you told me or I'd have freaked out."

"I wouldn't have left without telling you, though, you know that," she says, not sure he does.

"I know," he says. "I'm only a little worried."

She frowns. "Why?"

"Different planet," he says. "Can't tell what goes on there."

"We're staying in a temple, with a whole slew of people like Anakin. It'll be fine," she assures him.

"Are you taking anything?" John asks.

"Change of clothes, basic necessities... And at some point some hair gel ended up in the bag, I'm not sure how."

"You gel your hair?" John's boggling a little.

Parker stopped by on her way out the door to the Sin, knocking on the doorframe. "Hey. How's it going?"

"Hey," Aeryn says, finishing up with her bag and zipping it up. "It's going. You?"

Parker shrugs a little, looking tired. "Not so much. Long, bad week." She cocked her head, watching Aeryn finish up. "Where are you off to? Somewhere fun, I hope."

Aeryn shrugs back, leaving the bag on the edge of the bed so she'll remember to bring it to John's room later. "Field trip for one of my workshops," she says, specifically keeping it vague, since she thinks it'll probably be easier that way. "We'll see what happens when we get there."

"Cool. Wish I was going anywhere else," Parker added, then shook herself. "Are you up for a spar, when I get back after the Fourth? I've just been killing bags lately, I need to stay in practice."

"Of course," she says with a nod. "That bad, hm?"

"If I tell you that landing in a quicksand pit this morning was very typical of my week, only the quicksand was something I could cope with, that'll probably give you an idea." Parker wandered into the room, finally, looking like she was too wired to actually sit. "Bad news. More bad news. Some more bad news. The only reason I'm not smoking now is I'm on my way to Jarod's."

"I know how that is," Aeryn assures her. "And if I find out you're smoking again, I'll kick your ass harder when we spar."

Parker laughed a little, then sobered, and said, "Are you over the flu? John said you caught a nasty strain, when I talked to him at Rory's Mom's baby shower."

It doesn't take Aeryn long to figure out what she means, and she loves John a little more for knowing she's not ready to advertise that little species difference yet. She nods. "It was over fairly quickly," she answers. "Hasn't been a problem since."

"That's good. I didn't think you guys could get our bugs, if you hadn't been sick with something before now. I'm glad you're feeling better." Parker finally stopped by the desk, and fiddled with the lamp, before she finally managed to calm down a little. Then she bit her lip, and said, "Aeryn? Can I ask you a personal question? I... kind of need a second opinion."

Personal questions and Aeryn can be a touchy mix, but she nods anyway.
