Room 209, Thursday evening

Aeryn's actually looking forward to the Coruscant trip tomorrow. It's her first time offplanet in months, and to be completely honest, she's looking forward to seeing where Anakin comes from. That also means she has to pack a little. The door's open, only because she's finding that all of her things are spread between 209 and 238, and every time she thinks she has everything, there's one more thing she's forgotten.

Traveling- even for a night- was much easier when everything was standard issue.

"Um...they're under my bed." He grins sheepishly.

"Now I know where they are so I can beat you with them," Aeryn says.

"Hey!" He tries to pull his hand away. "That's not nice!"

Like she's letting him get away that easily. She keeps a firm grip on his hand. "You're the one that hid them and lied to me about it," she points out.

"They hurt and they're annoying," he says and tries to pull away again.

"LIed to me," she repeats, still not letting him go.

"They're just crutches," he protests. "They hurt my arms!"

"Oh, I could hurt your arms," she says. "Lied."

John's really trying to pull away now. "Aeryn, honey, please. They didn't help me!"

She lets go of him. And just stands there, not saying anything.

"I love you." And then he tries to look cute.

Aeryn folds her arms over her chest and raises an eyebrow at him. Mostly just to mess with him.

"I love you a lot. And I'm cute."

And he smiles again.

"Think that's going to work?" she asks, pretending it didn't already.

"Yes." He smiles again. "Very cute. And I love you a lot. A whole lot."

"And sure of yourself," she says lightly. "How much is 'a whole lot'?"

"A whole whole whole lot," he says. "More than anything."

Aeryn goes back to watching him, hoping to make him nervous. Teasing him is a hobby, really.

"Aeryn, please." He looks vaguely desperate. "The crutches gave me this wicked sore feeling under my armpits. I thought I had bruises or something, babe. It hurt to walk with them more than without. Look, am I bruised?"

He totally pulls off his shirt and sticks an arm up in the air.

She closes the distance between them, looking him over. "No," she says.

He actually stamps his foot. "Look closer!"

She stares at him. "You're not bruised, John. Something can hurt without it causing bruises."

"That's what happened to me!" He frowns at his arms. "Crutches suck!"

"How's the foot?" she asks him, rubbing his side either reassuringly or patronizingly, she's not sure which. Probably the first thing.

"It's okay," he says, looking at her warily.
