The flipside of getting a chance to go out and help save a friend and hurt some things in the process was that afterwards, it was back to normal things, like filling out job applications in front of the TV and feeling uncomfortable in the current style of clothes. There might have been a little part of her that wondered if it would be wrong to wear a pulse pistol around the apartment, just for the night.

She jerked, a little startled. "What was that for?" she asked.

"Because your toes are cute," he said and grinned.

"My toes are just that. Toes. They don't have descriptions," she told him.

"They are cute," he said and wiggled them.

"I think you have some issues."

"Like you didn't already know that," he said and wiggled another.

She frowned, though amused, watching him. "Is there a purpose for that?"

"I just like it," he said and laughed. "You've got cute toes, I can't help it."

"That is the strangest thing I've ever heard you call cute."

"I like all of you, babe," he said and smiled at her. "Every last part of you."

"That's sweet," she said, still not thinking she was good at that word. "But they're toes."

"I really don't care," he said and patted his shin. "I like them."

She poked his leg with one toe, for no reason.

He tickled the bottom of her foot.

Her foot twitched, and she poked him again.

He tickled her foot, longer this time.

"I will hurt you," she said automatically, poking him with her other foot.

"Oooh, hurt me, babe," he teased and tickled her again.

"Oh, so you think it'll be the good kind of hurt." It probably would be, sure.

"I haven't done anything wrong so, yes, I think it'd be the good kind of hurt."

"You have, however, been tickling me."

"Which is fun and non harmful," he pointed out.

"Says you," she teased.

"And I'm always right," he said, calling her bluff.

She almost laughed. "You are not."
